Advocates Grade Florida Legislators on Voting Record
July 14, 2017

Just as accountability helps identify schools and districts in need of improvement, advocates in Florida are looking to see which legislators are making the grade. The Foundation for Florida’s Future recently released their seventh Florida Education Report Card, recognizing legislators that took bold action to pass student-centered legislation.

The report card, which includes a letter-grade score for each legislator, recognizes legislators on the “honor role” for both the state House and Senate, listing notable accomplishments for champion legislators.

Using an A-F grading scale, similar to student grades, the report card provides a clear picture to constituents about how their lawmakers are voting on reforms designed to advance state policy.

Grades are based on legislators’ voting records and demonstrations of leadership.
