This continues the Walton Family Foundation-sponsored series, designed in partnership with PIE Network and Bellwether Education Partners. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, families and educators are eager to accelerate learning and provide students with the targeted support they need. Research shows that high-impact tutoring is among the most effective ways to do so. This discussion will review key components of high-impact tutoring, what state and local policies are required to support high-impact tutoring, and how to identify and recruit high-quality tutors. Kickstarters for this discussion will include: Charles Barone (Democrats for Education Reform), Courtney Bell (SCORE), AJ Gutierrez (Saga Education), Susanna Loeb (Annenberg Institute), Michael Petrilli (The Thomas B. Fordham Institute), and Jennifer Walmer (Democrats for Education Reform Colorado).
