As leadership across the Network evolves, you can stay up-to-date through new editions of Movers & Shakers. Read on for recent news around organizational structures and staffing at member organizations.

After four years, Laura Mann recently transitioned out of her role at the PIE Network. Laura will be joining the team at Instruction Partners as senior director of communications and marketing. Moving forward, please reach out to Ashley Schmidt or Christina Dobratz for communications needs.

Stacy Moore was recently appointed as interim executive director of Educators for Excellence-Chicago after Acasia Wilson Feinberg transitioned out of the role. Stacy joined E4E-Chicago as Managing Director of External Affairs in October 2016.

Blair Mann will soon join the Data Quality Campaign team as communications director. Blair most recently served as director of media relations at the Collaborative for Student Success. Ashley Inman Zanchelli will be expanding her role at the Collaborative as the organization’s newest communications director.

After eight years, David Pickens recently stepped down as executive director of DC School Reform Now (DCSRN). According to DCSRN board chair Kristin Ehrgood, “David led the organization to achieve great successes, and the breadth of his knowledge about making school choice work for families has richly added to the DC education landscape.” Additionally, Farhana Rabbi has stepped into the role as of DCSRN’s manager of program data for the High Quality Schools Campaign.

Tiffany Trawick has joined the Rodel Foundation of Delaware as an operations assistant. She previously served as regional executive coordinator of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Region of the American Red Cross.

After four years with BEST NC, Julie Kowal transitioned out of her role earlier this summer. Julie has joined the UNC System Office as Associate Vice President of P12 Strategy and Policy.

Bluum recently welcomed Kim Esterman to their team as finance & operations manager. Kim brings a diverse accounting background to the position, with a strong discipline in school business administration.

Three new staff members recently joined the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence team, filling positions created to address priorities of the group’s strategic plan adopted late in 2017: Kim Drummond as director of engagement, Brison Harvey as communications and engagement manager, and Sheryl Means as a a policy associate in early learning.

Daniel Zavala has transitioned out of his role as director of policy and government relations at the League of Education Voters. Daniel will be moving on to a new role at Building Changes, a nonprofit focused on youth and families experiencing homelessness.

Tiffany Jones is newest senior fellow to join FutureEd. Tiffany directs The Education Trust’s higher education policy team.

The State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE) recently welcomed three new staff members: Taylor Hall, who is rejoining SCORE as senior director of advocacy and government relations; Kristin Kenlaw, events and special projects manager; and La’Ken Shattuck, administrative coordinator.
