WA Parents Set High Bar for Students
February 8, 2018

The Ready Washington (Ready WA) coalition, which is led by Partnership for Learning and includes Stand for Children Washington, DFER-Washington, and League of Education Voters, has released a new video: “Parent Voices: Why Education and High Expectations Matter.” In this newest installment of parent voice videos, Ready WA asks parents to explain why education and high standards are significant for their students.

As Dana, a parent from Snoqualmie Valley School District, explains…

“If we set the bar high, we are putting them in a position to really challenge themselves, to have to work harder…that you can achieve it if you actually try.”

Jen at Highline School District agrees, “Setting a high expectation for a child gives them something to succeed with.”

The coalition’s previous parent video focused on how parents support students in their educational journeys. ReadyWA has also elevated the voices of high school students, college students, and educators. Check out their videos here, or reach out for a connection.
